Epilogue

All good things have to come to an end. After 16 months on the road, it was time for us to go home. Our minds, cameras and bank accounts were exhausted...

Made In Malaysia

Before flying home, we enjoyed a couple of weeks with our relatives in Petaling Jaya, in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur.

There, we did some shopping and tried to make ourselves useful helping with the end of year concert of Double Take, an extremely talented jazz duo with cousin Mia on vocals.

The show drew a mixed crowd of over 1500 Malays, Chinese, Indians, Sabahans and orang putih. After the intense preparations of the last days, the 2 hours of jazz standards, pop covers, Christmas classics and original compositions seemed to be over in a second. A truly memorable performance, which brilliantly succeeded with the difficult task of conquering a very multi-ethnic public.

So if you're in Malaysia or Singapore, make sure you don't miss this band (infos on oncoming events here)!

Back in Switzerland

The flight back with the United Arab Emirates airline lasted only 16 hours, including a stop-over in Dubai, offloading us in temperatures on average 30°C lower to what we got accustomed. Snow was early for the season, and large parts of Switzerland were already covered in white.

So, for now, it's dressing up warmly, living at our parents', hunting for jobs and (occasionally) skiing.
